Algar do Carvão located in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo, on the island of Terceira, Azores, was formed over 3000 years ago.

Integrated in Caldeira Guilherme Moniz, an ancient dormant volcano, in this place visitors can descend to a depth of about 90 meters and observe unique stalactites due to their silicate characteristics and an underground lagoon of crystalline water.

All these features make this place unique and offer a very interesting experience to the adventurers who descend the cave stairs.
